We may have found our missing propane tank after Hurricane Irene swept through the village

On Sunday, August 28, 2011 Hurricane Irene swept through Vermont and caused major flooding. Our little shop is located in the village of Cuttingsville next to a bridge that spans Mill River. We had 4 feet of water in the shop and the large propane tank located on the outside of the building disappeared. A few days ago we began the spring cleanup around the yard and inspected the property. We made a surprising discovery under the bridge. Not sure yet if this is our propane tank but we found one wedged up under the bridge!

The local volunteer fire department was called immediately but they determined the tank was empty and called the energy company. The tank was retrieved 2 days later. The brave firefighters did a fantastic job responding to the call and it was a relief to find out we weren't in any danger. Thanks SVFD! My heroes!
