Horse with tail over 11 feet long

You have to admit, this is an amazing old photo of a horse. The mane is 7 1/2 feet long and the tail is 11 1/2 feet long. The photo was taken in New Jersey around 1901. Can you imagine the care and upkeep for this horse to maintain all that hair? Wonder how long it took to braid it and I wonder who owned this beautiful creature.

Elmer Hutchings

Elmer Hutchings
Not sure where or when this old photo was taken but the name written on it to identify the man pushing the cart reads Elmer Hutchings. It appears he may be moving some furniture. Check out the horse and buggy in the background. The building looks like a store.

The horse and buggy days

A handsome lady, horse and rig
There is nothing like the sound of a horse walking along a country road...clip-clop-clip-clop-clip-clop. Not the best way to travel in inclement weather but on a sunny summer day there is nothing like it.

The mid-wife of Mt. Holly, Vermont and her horse

According to the information on the back of this photo's frame this lady was a mid-wife who lived in Mt. Holly, Vermont. She drove around in a buggy to deliver babies. Does anyone know her name and the name of her horse? Judging by her clothing this photo may have been taken in the late 1800's or early 1900's.

Ray doing what he loves to do

Ray doing what he loves to do
The caption under this photo is what was written on the back of it. Don't worry, Ray is not alone. You can see someone's feet behind the pony. Isn't this a great photo? Every child dreamed of having their own pony when I was a kid. Some of us did.
