Elmer Hutchings

Elmer Hutchings
Not sure where or when this old photo was taken but the name written on it to identify the man pushing the cart reads Elmer Hutchings. It appears he may be moving some furniture. Check out the horse and buggy in the background. The building looks like a store.

The mid-wife of Mt. Holly, Vermont and her horse

According to the information on the back of this photo's frame this lady was a mid-wife who lived in Mt. Holly, Vermont. She drove around in a buggy to deliver babies. Does anyone know her name and the name of her horse? Judging by her clothing this photo may have been taken in the late 1800's or early 1900's.

Turner Falls, Massachusetts

Was this a school? A business?

This group is seated on the lawn in first photo
These old photos were taken by the A.W. Howes & Co. photographers in Turner Falls, Massachusetts. Was this a school? A business? The group of well dressed people in the second photo were standing on the steps of this building. In the first photo they are seated or standing on the lawn in front of the building. There is only one gentleman in the group. Was he the custodian or owner of the business? Does this building still exist?

Old photos fascinate me. Some scenes and identities are lost to time. It is my hope to preserve some of those images even if the names and places may never be known.

Proud police officers

These old photos do not identify the gentlemen in them but the town of Cambridge, Massachusetts was stamped on the back of both.
